Victoria SalasVictoria was born in 1983 to Victor and Mary Salas in Santa Maria, California. She grew up with aspirations of becoming an artist one day and loved to learn (a.k.a. a nerd). She loved to try new things and was involved in the Girl Scouts and other clubs and activities in school. When she got older she played many different sports in High School. Her favorites were Water Polo and Tennis. She was also involved in Student Government and various other clubs including a Spanish language club that traveled to Europe during the summer of 2000. This inspired a love of travel and culture in her that still exists today.

After graduating high school, she moved to Seaside, California and attended California State University, Monterey Bay. She majored in Visual and Public Art with a concentration in Large Scale Painting and Murals (She also minored in Japanese Language and Culture, but we don’t know what that was about…). After graduating her and apartmentmate Diane moved to the Salinas Valley where they both lived until they both got engaged to handsome, wonderful men and went their separate ways.

Victoria’s hobbies now consist of artistic endeavors (when time presents itself), outdoor activities (when allergies are under control), Nintendo Wii (when Orlando isn’t playing) and cooking. She is currently working for MACSA El Portal Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Academy Charter High School in Gilroy as the art teacher and 9th grade English teacher. She is attending National Hispanic University to finish her credentials in both English and Art and hopes to move on to a Masters degree in Fine Arts in a few years.
